Shift-8

Purpose

Shift-8 is my personal blog (web log). I post about my life and experiences on this site.

It is no longer going to play host to any professional materials what so ever. My portfolio has been moved over to my web design company's site Phoenix Media.

Domain

I registered shift-8.com on 3 Jan 2001. If you trace my romantic history 2 ex girlfriends back, you will discover she loved stars. That influenced the choice of a star as my logo. If you take a look at your key board and push SHIFT + 8 you will notice this produces an asterisk, or a star.

Technical Shiz

Design

This site was designed by Phoenix Media, which means it was designed by me. It uses valid XHTML and CSS. I also wrote a custom CMS using PHP and MYSQL to best fit the needs of the site.

Hosting

This site is hosted by Phoenix Media. Check it out the Phoenix Hosting page if you are looking for a good host.

Syndication

For nerds: Here are the currently available RSS feeds for the shift-8 family of sites.

Where are the Versions?

You may ask, "Hey Steve, where are the printable or mobile versions of your site?" There is no need to extra versions. This site uses style sheets, and should make itself readable all by itself on your PDA.
